We launched our latest publication Fitzroy People 2 at the North Fitzroy library on Friday 15th November.

The event was the culmination of several months research work by members of the Society on persons who had lived in Fitzroy and Fitzroy North from its earliest days until the mid 1900’s and who’s stories had not been previously told. There were more than 100 attending the launch, and with the assistance of Rose Chong’s acting troupe bringing some of the stories to life, all seemed to have an enjoyable evening.

Many of those attending purchased copies of the publication by cash. Unfortunately our EFT tablet was not operating and we know there were several people who wished to purchase a copy could not do so. For those wishing to purchase a copy, payment of $25 can be made directly to our Bendigo Bank account;

together with advice to our Treasurer Peter Woods, email or the President Brendan Mitchell and we will arrange for a copy to be collected or delivered. Postage is expensive at around $15 and we try to avoid this. The Fitzroy library are unable to handle purchases directly.
