In case you are unfamiliar with the term “ghost sign”, a ghost sign is an old sign that has been preserved on a building for an extended period of time. The sign may be kept because of its nostalgic appeal, or simply due to the indifference of the owner.
Mark Hassed has compiled the largest photographic collection of Fitzroy ghost signs. Currently there are 110 but he discovers more all the time. They give an interesting insight into Fitzroy's past.
