		AGM last night 15 November 2023After our formalities with the AGM were attended to, we were delighted to hear from our guest speaker, Chris Bennett. Chris spoke about his book Roy Boy which was several years in the making. It is about his life in Fitzroy from a very early age with lots of wonderful anecdotes including a few brushes with the law. Chris' parents emigrated from Greece and they worked hard, owning and operating a local fish and chip shop. Whilst a lot of folks did not have money, I gather that they did have a strong community, something we need to keep aspiring to. Thanks for the lively talk Chris.

		St John the Baptist Church talk on Saturday 28 October 1.30 pm.IT'S A WONDER IT WAS BUILT AT ALLYou are most welcome to come and hear John Andrews speak about the history of the building and following development of the parish of St Johns, Queens Parade, Clifton Hill on Saturday 28 October 2023 at 1.30pm. View too the photographic exhibition of the church, its schools and community. John's recently published history, "St John the Baptist's: A church and its community" can be purchased on the day by cash (correct change please)  or by credit card. Royalties will go towards restoring paintings in the church.
